Mid-autumn festival and the NIGHT is YOUNG!

It is mid-autumn festival today (Mooncake festival) and we went down to Torrens river where there was SUPPOSEDLY some huge celebration. However, we got side tracked and ended up doing the following (snapping away..):

Now back to my role play tomorrow which I have yet to see ( I am so dead). Plus I have just found out some shocking news regarding doing my honours presentation again tomorrow to some other researchers! Oh dear..

Thai plane crash

I just found out about this today:


Being someone who loves to fly and travel, I was sad and shocked when I read the news. 89 people DIED in the budget-airline plane crash on Sunday, 16 Sept at Phuket airport. The 89 people recorded dead came from at least 10 countries, including Britain, the US, Australia, France, Germany, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Sweden and Thailand. I remember when I was at Chiang Mai airport last Dec, I saw this budget airline "One-Two-Go" and thought to myself, "budget airlines are amazing.. everyone can travel affordably!"

Anyways, the cause of the crash is uncertain, and could possibly be due to the plane trying to land in bad weather OR pilot's error OR faulty wind shear system (to detect wind speed) at Phuket airport. Human errors are common, but mother nature is even scarier! Especially since Phuket was hit by Tsunami in Dec 2004!

Life is unpredictable and short I would have to say. Would the news of the crash deter me from traveling the world? The answer is NO. It just makes me appreciate life more, want to travel more (coz life is short) and remind me to be thankful of the good and safe life God has given us. To all the families of the victims, deepest condolences!

This weekend..

The weekend has gone by so quickly. Here I am sitting thinking where did all my time went..

Fri night: celebrated friend's birthday

Fri/Sat midnight till 5am: RAH emergency department (friend was not well)

*slept 2 hours before leaving for Uni*

Sat whole day: At Uni for first aid course, physically there, mentally dead

Sat night: Slept at 9.30pm (probably the earliest since I arrived in Adelaide)

Sun morning: church

Sun a'noon: lunch at Chinatown then grocery shopping

So that was my first weekend after the semester started.. not looking forward to lectures tomorrow, especially knowing more than half of Adelaide's tertiary students are on their 2 weeks break..

Oh well, life goes on..

Before I forget, Shi Wei, Yong Ling and I took this pic to put on our blogs today =))

We saw this dress on specials for $50 and went *awk* Conversation that follows:

A: I don't think I'll get it if it is 10 dollars

B: I won't even get it if it is 5 dollars

C: Well, I won't even want it if you give it to me for FREE

B: But you can use it as an old rag ..

A: Maybe put it in front of the toilet door?

C: FOR ALL YOU KNOW IT MIGHT NOT EVEN ABSORB WATER!!!

Royal Adelaide Show

As of 10 September 2007, 1.30pm Honours is FINALLY OVER!!! *huge relief* I thought I would have never completed it on time but all those late nights, early mornings and eye bags paid off ;-) Now I'm left looking like an old vegetable ^_^

THIS year... Looks like I have evolved again..


And I probably will in the future.. I have changed so much from high school.. thin --> fat (2002/2003) --> thin (2004) --> medium (2006) --> ?? Hair: short --> side parting --> middle parting short --> middle parting long(er) --> spiky --> messy --> chicken style --> black --> brown --> gold --> ?? glasses: yes --> no (2001) --> yes (2002) --> no (2007).. and the list goes on..

Anyways, the Royal Adelaide Show was not too bad this year. We sort of did what we didn't last year, ate lotsa food and stayed back to watch the closing fireworks which was awesome.

Feels like it's ages since I've posted something .. as usual I am drowning in the workload of honours BUT am counting the days till it's over. Currently, if all goes well.. that would be 10 days.. which is pretty soon.. and I've still got quite a lot to do..

Anyways, this is coming a little late but HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY to all Malaysian! Toast to Malaysians where we celebrate:

1) Yummy food at the lowest price possible
2) Friendly people (?)
3) Endless MegaSales throughout the year
4) No winter.. WOOHOO!
5) Family & friends

On another note, I have been addicted to gummies recently. Been chewing away non-stop (pops one into mouth) and I am blaming it on honours *winks* This seems to be the first advantage of honours --> allowing me to get away when I indulge..
